BITUMINOUS MORTARS
Mortar made up of an intimate combination of fine grain mineral aggregate rich in filler, fibres and a bituminous binder in the form of asphalt emulsion.
The mineral aggregate constitutes the skeleton providing thickness to the treatment and the cohesion necessary to the fibre plus bitumen mixture.
The incorporation of fibres produces a significant improvement in the behaviour of the mastic asphalt obtained, creating an armour within the mortar, improving mechanical performance (especially in relation to the traction and abrasion produced by traffic), increasing the flexibility of the latter.
